      The role of the Virtualisation Architect will be to consult with customers from a range of industry sectors which we supply, to deliver unbiased Virtualisation solutions. This position will report directly into our Virtualisation Practice Head but supporting and assisting the whole Delivery function.

      Role / Principal Accountabilities: – Capability to architect and design virtualisation platforms for small and large scale Virtualisation projects (3 to 100 ESX host servers) – Provide technical authority and responsibility for VMware and Citrix Xen solutions – Work with the sales team to qualify and quantify multiple virtualisation opportunities. – Analyse business requests and provide solutions to meet requirements – Develop/maintain design documentation

      Skills & Experience Required: – Developed, Designed, Architected and Deployed virtualisation environments with over 100 physical nodes and/or 1000 virtual server instances – Proven experience in developing enterprise infrastructures which are reliable and easy to maintain – Technical knowledge and appreciation of a wide range of Windows/Storage/Networking technologies is desirable – Practical experience with the full VMWare suite including ESX/HA/DRS/Vmotion and storage Vmotion/SRM/VDI/VCB/LCM – Experience with blade infrastructures and hardware virtualisation technologies (particularly Dell) – Experience of rack mounted infrastructures (particularly Dell) – VMware Capacity Planner certification – VCP Certification – CPSA Certification – Practical P2V/V2V experience with VMware Converter (V3 & V4), Visioncore vConvert and Platespin Migrate. – Must have good customer facing and presentation skills – Capability to run technical workshops

      Desirable: – vSphere 4.0 – Other virtualisation platforms such as Xen, Hyper-V – Knowledge of SAN storage systems including Dell, HP & EMC arrays – Knowledge of networking topologies and 10GigE networks
