Commercial finance advice, support and constructive challenge

      Commercial accountant required for leading employer in Harrogate. This role is key in providing commercial finance advice, support and constructive challenge whilst leading the
      financial reporting, management and forecasting of the service line.
      Key accountabilities and duties:
      Forecasting – controlling the forecast process for the service line. This
      includes managing key stakeholders and the development and maintenance
      of forecasting models to estimate future income and cost streams. Provide
      clear analysis of key variances to support any remedial plans and the
      coordination of actions in support of those plans.
      Monthly reporting and analysis – leading the month-end process for the
      service line which will include managing the wider Finance and Markets
      teams to that end. Analysing the service line P&L in accordance with month
      end timetables, to produce meaningful variance analysis and commentary.
      Reporting the key drivers of performance and driving actions to maximise
      profitability. Managing the service line P&L to ensure that targets are
      achieved.
      Support bids – work with the Markets team to develop prices.
      Business case support -partner with the service line to produce robust and
      accurate business cases to justify investments.
      Ad hoc requests – ad hoc analysis and reporting as and when required,
      sometimes to tight deadlines.
      You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional and proactive attitude
      Able to work with skill at detailed and summary levels
      Advanced excel skills
      Good interpersonal skills
      Qualifications: Qualified accountant or equivalent
